Intentionnaly kill the Workspace

Mon May 03, 2021 2:11 pm
Dear KDE Community,

I had a dialog window informing me that a KDE application crashed, and now I have no background (black), no panels, no anything on the desktop (see screencapture). I like that. What application do I need to intentionally kill to get this behavior next time ?

Are you really talking about Plasma 4? Please be a tad more precise about your exact Plasma version and distribution.

FWIW: Plasma 4 is not supported anymore by us since quite some time now.
FWIW2: you can choose a black background and remove the panels yourself, no need to kill anything

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...
