I am using gentoo and have an odd problem in KDE 4.x that I don't know how to fix. A few dialog boxes seem to have the text color locked in to white. If I change to a darker color scheme, I can read them. If I use the default color scheme, I cannot. The list of dialog boxes where this happens include:
The plasma Add Widgets box Any box using Get Hot New Stuff - download new plasma apps, themes, wallpaper, etc I tried deleting any .kde directories in my home folder....that didn't do it. So I have to assume that perhaps there is a setting elsewhere for this. I believe that with KDE 4 gentoo installs kde into standard directories. So, anyone know where the file is I need to change or delete?

If this issue still effects you, which version of KDE are you running?
If it doesn't affect you any more, could you please add [SOLVED] to the beginning of the thread subject? Thanks in advance.

Solved by new install...not my favorite solution but solved a couple of other issues also.
