Hello everybody!

I think there is a problem with my configuration, though it may be the expected behavior.

Every time I click a link on RSSNOW plasmoid it first copies it to tmp and then konqueror opens the locally saved file. I am using KDE 4.1.3 on Gentoo Linux. Prior to 4.1.3 the locally saved file would open in kwrite instead of konqueror!

I feel that the link should be opened immediately in Konqueror instead of being first saved to tmp.

For example clicking on the news about Gran Canaria Summit Desktop 2009, Konqueror opens /var/tmp/kdecache-mrsaccess/krun/22895.0.1227742322 instead of http://dot.kde.org/1227742322/.

Any ideas? Thanx in advance! :-)

Hello! I managed to solve the problem which turned out to be a generic problem with my KDE settings.

It turns out that I had wrong file associations for text/html type.

This is how to fix it:
Go to System Settings -> Advanced -> File Associations.

Find type text/html. In the Application Preference Order pane you will propably have one or two entries for Konqueror. Although both entries are named Konqueror they are not the same. If you choose to edit them you will find out that one runs kfmclient openProfile webbrowsing whilst the other one runs kfmclient openURL %u text/html. The latter is the correct one, so just move it to the top (create it if doesn't exist), apply new settings and you are good to go!

I found the solution at KDE lists but didn't save the link. :undecided:
