universal plasmaoid

Thu Jan 01, 2009 2:19 am
Hi,

there are so much plasmaoids for specific things...

But whats about one plasmaoid which is able to contain different programs ?

A lot of programs is perfect to use in a smal window.
Why there are plasmaoids for amarok, pidgin, kopete...

Isn't it possible to make one wich is able to contain every program ?
It shouldnt have spezific functions, "only" showing the wantet prg.
Something like "screen in screen" at TV.

I believe there may be a XEmbed based Plasmoid in Playground that is capable of embedding and displaying applications. Don't know how stable it is though. ( Note: I only recall reading something about this on Planet, it may have never entered SVN )

There is one in playground called Embedded Window that does that.

It is still only a test applet - you have to click on an existing window to embed it every time you start plasma, the rotation doesn't work... but is fun to try.
