Few problems with kde 4.1.3

Hi.
First of all, great work you're doing out there.
proud to be part of this amazing group of kde users and developers.

now fro the problems i'm facing:

1. some of the desktop settings does not being saved when restarting plasma. these include: if i place a shortcut for an application (dolphin) in the panel, it disappears when restarting. the clock position is not where i put it, as well as the rest of the icons.

2. the cashew symbel in the top right corner has disappeared.

3. my multimedia keys that where once working are no longer working or even being recognized when trying to use keyboard shortcuts.

4. (serious problem) when loging out, the language layout is changed to my language (Hebrew) and i can't change it to English in order to write the password. i'm lucky that there is an auto login but this is a serious problem since i am unable to switch users or login to a different session.

hope things will improve in the next version.

thank you all for the wonderful work you do.

my advice - find your distro's 4.2beta repo and install it - it's that good

shalom nivosh:

it appears in your post that there was misconfiguration at installation phase; if not, check your "cron" if you
have activated some routines there. Actually Linux does not behave that way under normal conditions.

Did you choose Heb keyboard over English version of Linux? This will greatly affect the performance.

Also, it appears to me (me, not you) that there is contention between RTL and LTR (right2left, left2right) that
causes some dislocation of icons at restart. I also run hebrew and eng over Linux Mint 5 and 6, as well as
an Ubuntu in my acer but there is no issue like yours.

How I did it?
I made English as my default in the installation --for both the Keyboard & Version. Only added Heb support later, after confirming all things clear.

In your case I think you can reverse this: Choose default in Heb at installation then add Eng support later.

Hope this helps. bhtzlkh

For number 4: Use your distributions configuration utilities ( YaST on openSUSE ) to change your keyboard layout to the appropriate option.
