Kui server wishes

Thu Jan 08, 2009 6:33 pm
I am currently using kde 4.2 trunk with opensuse 11.1 UNSTABLE packages. I see that kui server ( job tray , i don't know the right name ), start working nice. However. Try to delete some little files, like some photos. One at time. A list of messages from kui server will grow up and reach the top of the screen. I think that you should make a control, like: if kui server shows more than X jobs then reorganize them. Screenshoot

This requires grouping support in extenders (that's what those things are), and is planned for 4.3.

one thing we have done for 4.2 is only show jobs that take more than a couple of seconds. so you don't see floods of small jobs anymore. if you delete a ton of large files, you'll still get the same effect, however, and as was already pointed that we have a solution for that coming in 4.3.

the "quick job" problem was the common case, however, and was also easy to solve so we were able to get that into 4.2.0

Good :) Can you tell me when the patch for short job was commited to svn? I think that my packages ( 5 jan ) don't have this patch.
I think i'll switch to svn. Can you give me an output of df just to see how much space does the kde 4 trunk src and the compiled src uses?
Thanks a lot

AFAIK it will be in RC1, so next weekly update of the KDE:KDE4:UNSTABLE repository should have it.
