Before I file this on bugs.kde.org, I would like to know if I'm the only one that has problems using Lancelot using Qt 4.4.4? For the record, I'm using OpenSUSE 11.1, 64bit, with the factory KDE repos (as of now, 4.1.96) as well as the QT44 repo.
Most of it works just fine (and nothing else has thrown a fit of any kind by using that version of Qt), it's just that the most important parts do not: The applications and the favorites part of Lancelot are always empty and makes the launcher practically useless. Contacts, computer, and the documents sections work as they should though).

I'm running the same except I'm using the qt4 repo and Lancelot is working ok (except for a lag when starting)

Yeah, I tried the QT44 repo and had the same issue.
(Running opensuse11/KDE4.2rc1) I removed it and rolled back to QT4.4.3. I think Lancelot is probably the one thing in KDE4 I couldn't live without. :shade:

I don't have 4.4.4 installed, so it will take some time before I could check this.

p.s. Don't file a bug since Qt 4.4.4 is not final

No worries. I really should have thought about that, but for some reason it slipped my mind...so good thing you reminded me Anyway, I look forward to when Lancelot and Qt 4.4.4 will work together but until then I revert to 4.4.3, since Lancelot is damn addictive and a great productivity enhancer

Well, fortunately, you've reminded me that I need to compile the 4.4.4 (I've downloaded it, but totally forgot about it... too much things to do... no time)

Ok, the problem is confirmed... though, for me, with 4.4.4 Plasma crashes at start so it is not all sunshine and roses even for other applications
Update: Recompiled Lancelot (against 4.4.4) shows the application section, but has problems with browsing the applications. I will not try to fix this until 4.4.4 is final (since I hope it is a bug in 4.4.4, and not in L ). And, on the other side, possibly the next KDE will be based on Qt 4.5, so we'll maybe skip 4.4.4 |
