Hello,
I have quit a bit of plasmoids, google gadget, ... in my installer I like to get rid of these which I not need - how can I do this? Beside this: I had a gmail Notifier tested in the past (worked fine) now i wanted to run it again but the only thing i get is an empty container.. Meanwhile I updated to KDE 4.2.0 is there an issue? If so - i like even more to get rid of these artefacts. Thanks a lot -bushveld

ok,
so I have to "hunt" for them since all are not from KDE4.2 times ... I think they are in .kde4/share/apps/plasma/plasmoids -- is it save to just remove them from here? -bushveld

It is completely safe to remove them from that folder, as long as you are not using any of the Plasmoids in there.

Thanks,
I have removed these plasmoids and google gadgets which I not need. But.. I still have the complete list displayed in the installer wizzard. How is this one cleaned up? And by the way I have found a google gadted with the name igoogle under /usr/share/google-gadgets/igoogle.gg does this imply that I can use igoogle gadgest with/via this (destop gadget)? I was not luck to get more info or to find it in the wizzard after i added it ... Thanks a lot. -bushveld

The Add Widgets dialog relies on .desktop files to display the available applets. You may need to find the .desktop files that are related to the ones you deleted.

Thanks,
this was my fear, since it seems to be a VERY timeconsuming issue to match the filename to the applet. I guess I stay with them... and hope / wait for an delete button ... -bushveld

Or try rebuilding the cache:

Hi,
I gave it a try with kbulidsycoca4 --noincremental but this has no effect. Is this the correct option. Sorry I don't want to just try it out - it migth messes up my system? Thanks and by - bushfeld

delete relevant plasma-applet-*.desktop files under $KDEHOME/share/kde4/services/
connect(post, SIGNAL(readSignature()), qapp, SLOT(quit()));
