Hi,
there is now an igoolge gadget which comes with the googel gadget pakage. Seems to be a cool thing this way every igoogle gadget could be user with plasma. But I do not get an igoogle gadget too work with this adget ( i allways get the message: error loading gadget) ok this might be b/c there is non. So rightklick and drag and drop an igoogle gadget in there - all fine! great! But when i klick on OK everything goes away and I am back to #1 .. Any one who uses this gadget with openSUSE 11.0? THanks a log -bushveld

I cannot find this Gadget. Is it available through Add New Widget > Google Gadgets?

I am right not at an PC to provide screenshots. Add New Widget > Google Gadgets > select English(US) > search for igoogle I had to reopen the Add New Widget Wizzard than it is displayed as igoogle in the selection list.. -bushveld

I think it is not working for you because it is still very new, and likely still having all the problems worked out of it.
For some reason, my installation refuses to update the Google Gadgets data, so I have an old list of Gadgets. EDIT: It is because I don't use Network Manager. Grrr.

Hi,
due to the Networkmanager? Hm, I don't use it either. Did you try: http://software.opensuse.org/search search for google-gadgets and click 1-click-install. Since it uses yast the install is fairly transparant, ok for me. By -bushveld

Unfortunately I build my own packages ( to save 3+ hour downloads through YaST that can fail and leave a broken system to easily ) which includes Google Gadgets. I will try to find out why it doesn't work.
I forcibly refreshed it ( kquitapp plasma-desktop && rm -rf ~/.google/ && plasma-desktop ) but it still did not make a difference. Google must not yet have not made it available ( or my ISP's intercepting proxy has dated data )

Hi,
I, kind of, gave up - either this is just a wrapper gadget and can not be used (i have not found any information which provides detailed info about this gadget) or it is still buggy. I have stopped my efforts and have posted my concerns in google groups. As soon as, if, I get usefull info I will provide this here. Thanks for the potsings -bushveld

Did you find a solution? It should work but I can't find documentation.
Plasma has an option to install an applet from local file. And one of those types is a "web component". I guess that it means an HTML file. But the file picker only lets me choose a ZIP file. What format should that be? |

Sorry I do not have a solution, maybe some hints but more guessing. I am on a clientsite project oversea (well thats relative ) ) as soon as I have some spare time I will make some notes here. Maybe some one else can help me out concerning the zip file I have to guess since I am not 100% sure ... by for now Bushveld
