I have my taskbar setting set to "do not group" and "sort alphabetically" and it works as described except that later opened tasks are placed before earlier load ones. Ex I open FF then an other FF window and the 2nd one opened is to the left of the earlier one on the taskbar, where logically, as least to me, they should be placed in the order opened.

Is there a editable config file? Would this be considered a bug or wish list item?

I think this would be considered a bug, given that this is how KDE 3, pre sorting KDE 4, GNOME, Mac OS X, Windows, etc. behave.
