In desktop or folder view files are displayed as icons, when the file name is a_long_file_name_without_spaces_here, the icon cannot show the full file name, it is truncated.
I'd like the gnome behavior: when the file has a long name, enlarge the icon until it can show the full file name. In fact, whether the icon is enlarged or not is unimportant, I want to see the full file name on desktop icon when the file name is as long as 80 characters. Is that possible in KDE?

If you are running kde 4.2 then right click the folder view and select folder view settings>display, and increase the number of lines. If you are using kde 4.1.2 or 4.1.3 then tough luck, AFAIK the text line feature wasn't there.

You may also drop an icon on the desktop itself to create an 'icon' widget that can be resized using the widget controls.

Is there a way to adjust the icon spacing? The vertical spacing is somewhat indirectly affected by the number of lines, but what about horizontal spacing?
