Is it a bug or a configuration problem? Is it a problem with the show desktop widget or with kmenu, or something else?
How to replicate: - have a couple of windows opened, some minimized and some not (i.e. opened, maximized or not) - have the show desktop widget installed - click on show desktop, which minimizes those not minimized windows as expected - launch an application from KMenu What is expected: the application's window opens, only that one! What happens: the application's window opens, and all windows minimized by show desktop are restored. Other: the strange thing is that if you launch an application with the quicklauncher (Alt+F2) then it behaves as expected. |

The inconsistency between KRunner ( quicklauncher ) and the KMenu is unusual. That would appear to be a bug. This will probably lead to buggy behaviour / crashes if the button was clicked again ( restore windows ) if a new application has been launched through KRunner.

I have found an option here: http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-re ... 94409.html
They talk about adding an option to kwinrc. I guess that was meant for KDE 3.5. If it works in 4.2 as well, I don't know.

Just tried in KDE 4.2, and that option works.
