Hey
KDE 4.2.1 has been doing a very good job for me until now. Let me describe the situation. I have a laptop which has a standalone monitor next to it. When i use the laptop at home it just stands on my desk, connected to the monitor. This works pretty good with xinerama and all. I also use the laptop on the road and thus without the monitor being connected. Now for some reason when i disconnect the monitor and then restart KDE, plasma crashes at startup. I never had the problem before, it just started yesterday. When i alter my xorg.conf file to show i have the second monitor there are no problems at all. I can't provide a useful backtrace as this only happens with my 'live' install and i don't really want to get this one dirty with dbg packages. Note: This doesn't happen on my trunk build I guess there must be something wrong with a configuration file somewhere but i've read before that just removing the .kde directory isn't the way to go. What can i do to resolve this issue? Thanks |

Sounds like a bug in Kephal that was fixed after release if you are running KDE 4.2. KDE 4.2 will likely recieve the fix in KDE 4.2.2

Ok thanks, i fixed my problem for now by switching between two config files
I noticed that when i removed plasma-appletsrc the problem got 'solved'. I've got one for my dualscreen setup and one for my singlescreen now. All i need to do is type: dualscreen.sh
or singlescreen.sh
Guess i can live with this for a month |
