In KDE3.x, there was a checkbox for removing the shadow from behind the text for desktop icon labels. Where is it now and/or how do I remove the text shadow? At the moment, the labels are illegible on my monitor because of bleed from the shadow. Very unsatisfactory.

Thanks

It's in the folder view's config dialog under "display". If you use folder view as your desktop containment you can access this config dialog via the desktop toolbox aka "the cashew".
