comic plasmoid not updating

Tue Apr 07, 2009 5:03 pm
My comic stopped updating a couple of weeks ago; also interval fetching of feeds in Akregator. I was hoping yesterday's update to 4.2.2 in Debian unstable (AMD 64) would have fixed it but it didn't. I have tried deleting the plas* files from my .kde directory. If I run plasmaengineexplorer, dict works correctly but comic dilbert, xkcd and garfield all return Key:Error, Value:True and Type:Bool.

plasmoidviewer comic produces a black window, with the occasional
findServiceByDesktopPath: not found
error message.

Where do I go from here?

To follow myself up, things appear to have changed following a reboot. I now get rotating dots appearing when setting the comic up (though no comic appears) .xsession-errors now contains "file retriever error: 123", and my Akregator has started interval fetching again. I did also have a look at eth0 with wireshark whilst trying to fetch a comic but no fetch seemed to be attempted.

Eventually I may be able to set up a development environment and have a look what is happening.
