It's in .kde4/share/config/plasma-appletsrc

And how are you doing the sync? I have the same problem, but I'm not so skillful in BASH to write a script that will isolate the contents of my laptop's notes, send it to PC over network and then update the contents of my PC's notes. Are there any more elegant ways to achieve this?

For easy synchronization without writing any scripts you could use a service like dropbox. Then the files you want - like the mentioned notes, for example - would always be uploaded to your online account when you edit them, and downloaded to the other computer once it connects to the net. |

I think you misunderstood me. I don't want to sync the whole file, just the part of it which describes the notes plasmoid. The synchronization of the whole file is easily done with unison or rsync, but that will make my desktops on PC on laptop look the same and have the same plasmoids. I don't want that... I want different desktop configuration on my PC and laptop, but I want to sync the contents of the notes plasmoid between the PC and laptop. In order to achieve this, I would have to sync only the part of the plasma-desktop-appletsrc which describes the notes plasmoid - and this looks rather difficult. It would be a much easier job if plasma-desktop-appletsrc were folder instead of file which would contain files that describe active plasmoids. Thus, each plasmoid would have it's own configuration file and it would be easy to sync the configuration (and thus the contents of the notes plasmoid). So, any idea on how to achieve the synchronization of just a part of the file?

I don't think you can do this with notes (it doesn't seem to be written to have that kind of functionality) - seems to me you want a plasmoid that has a web component that stores and syncs what you place/edit in the note.
2 suggestions: 1) try using the remember the milk plasmoid, maybe it can be adapted to your needs 2) place a request on the BrainStorm thread for this funtionality |

Nope. Instead I switched to using web browser plasmoid which shows Google tasks. It works fine, but Internet connection is required.

Sorry for grave digging, but this thread ranks pretty high in Google search results for this topic, and I thought I'd just add that KDE5 stores the notes in the folder
