I recently installed PCBSD with KDE 4.2, and while the OS itself has been fine, I've had multiple issues figuring our KDE (I've used Gnome for years).
First, I somehow lost the Desktop Folder, but I found a link and figured that one out. Next, while trying to add the System Monitor icon to the bottom task bar, I lost both System Monitor and the task bar itself. I've put the task bar back, and I found System Monitor in the lost & found folder. But I'm missing the KMenu button, and so have no access to my software (I'm typing this on my Ubuntu machine), and the icon for the System Manager software. How can I restore the KMenu? And how can I restore an application? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer. |

Add the "application launcher" widget to the panel (click the yellow cashew on the panel> Add widgets, to move widget on the panel, click the cashew then click and move any widget on the panel).

medo: Well, that was easy! I think that one of my problems is that I don't yet understand all the names of the various functions.
Thank you very much for your quick reply! |

You'll get used to it in no time, almost all DE's use similar analogies (and hey, kde4 is worth the time). If the issue is solved please edit you first post and add [Solved] to the subject line.
