I need to reinstall the org. main panel with all the stuff it comes with.

This sounds like you need to reset your Plasma configuration.
Execute the following command without Plasma running.
Code: Select all
rm -rf $(kde4-config --localprefix)/share/config/plasm*

KDE Sysadmin
