[solved] containments inside panels

Mon Aug 03, 2009 8:19 pm
Hello everyone,

is it possible to put a containment into a panel? I am using vertical panel and since it is somewhat wide, every plasmoid takes a lot of space. I would like to have plasmoids in two or more colums, same as in the system tray. Is it possible? Have already someone implemented something like this?

Thanks for any suggestions, sorry for spam if it was already discussed

I do not believe Plasma supports this at this time. A workaround could involve a Plasmoid which embeds two chosen Plasmoids within itself in the desired rows format.

I see, thanks

I guess netbook guys are doing something similar with the newspaper layout, aren't they?

I have not looked at its code, but it is quite likely they are doing something similar yes.

It is not possible right now, but there is a brainstorm idea about this. It should be possible in principle, I assume.
