Hello

I have just upgraded to KDE 4.3 (Arch standard packages) and am experiencing some issues with my panels and the plasmoids embedded within them.

I have a fixed panel at the bottom of my screen (75% width, centered) which contains the K app launcher, a Task manager, a system tray and the battery plasmoid. On the top edge of my screen I have an autohiding panel which is set to about 60% width. The top panel contains various plasmoids (RTM, Turn off, weather, digital clock etc).

When I restart the machine the system tray and battery plasmoid seems to appears as far to the left as it can instead of retaining it's position on the right of the bottom panel. The plasmoids in the top panel also seem to lose their order and some even disapear.

Has anyone else come across this at all.... or is it a legit bug that needs to be logged on bugzilla?

All help very much appreciated.

Did you try to MOVE the files in ~/.kde4/share/config/ which contain plasma in their names and reconfigure your desktop?
So e.g.
move ~/.kde4/share/config/plasma-desktop-appletsrc to ~/.kde4/share/config/plasma-desktop-appletsrc~

I have the same problem even on what was a completely fresh install. I have three widgets on my panel, the pager on the left, window list on the right, and stasks in between. But after a reboot the window list jumps to the middle of the panel, leaving a big blank space to the right. I have two panels on two screens, it only happens on one of the two. It is really weird.

Hey guys, thanks for yor reply's.

Last night I renamed my .kde4 directory in home to .kde4_old so on next reboot kde went back to scratch and recreated it. However, this has not solved the problem.

However, I have a theory which I am about to test which is down to the use of activities (I started to use a second for alt plasmoids).

I will update if i solve.

OK after much trying of various things it appears to be caused by the default Plasma theme Air!

I have applied another style and rebooted 5 times without problem so my original theory was blow out (regarding activities).

I will file a bug if no one in #kde or #plasma can help.
