About widgets from internet

Fri Aug 14, 2009 5:31 pm
Hi all,

First, sorry for my english.

1- I´ve been using KDE since 4.1 version, actually I use the 4.3 version (on OpenSuse 11.1), and I found the same problem. I can´t install no one widget directly from the internet (using the right click on the desktop).
It´s appears on the list, but when I execute the widget, appears one red window with a cross, saying it´s impossible to execute the widget.
It happens with every widget.

2- Now, another problem, but with the themes, no one theme instaled from internet appears on the list of themes.

So, anybody can help me?

Thanx!!

If you create a new user, does it correctly function there?

Hi!

I created a new user and same thing happened. I tried logged with root and the same thing too.
The message is:

"Could not created ScriptEngine python for..."

I never could do this thing work!

You need to install the Python bindings for Plasma. These should be available from your package manager ( try the "pykde4" package... )

I'm getting the same problem I've installed PyKDE4 but still have the same problem. I can use the already installed plasmoids with no problems but i'm not able to install from the web or manually, with no error messages.

[Steve_B@Sinistar-Main Download]$ plasmapkg -i gmail-plasmoid-0.7.10.plasmoid
Installation of /home/Steve_B/Download/gmail-plasmoid-0.7.10.plasmoid failed.

In Fedora you need kdebase-workspace-python-applet - I don't know whether all distros use that name.
