I'm using KDE4.3.1 in openSUSE 11.1 and would like to reduce the default panel height. My panel seems to default to a height of 30 but I prefer it to be 24 as I use a laptop and need all the screen real estate I can get.
I ask because the panel seems to reset itself to the 30 height every now and again especially after after I change theme. I have widgets locked but that doesn't lock the panel height.

Is there no config file somewhere that sets this? I assume it's set by KDE rather than the theme.

So you do know how to resize the panel, it just forgets the setting from time to time? Other than when changing the theme, when does this occur?

Yes, I resized it by dragging the height adjuster in panel settings to 24 but every now and again it forgets the setting and reverts to a height of 30. It's difficult to say when it happens but it's usually when messing around with the plamoids, desktop settings or themes. Something triggers a screen refresh and then the panel height reverts to 30. I'll keep a closer track next time it happens and report back. so is there no default setting somewhere? It always seem to set itself back to 30 so I assume that figure is set somewhere.

That I thinkhas to do with the way plasma applies the themes so maybe report it as a buig would be reasonable.

As reported on IRC this is a question of svg margins and couple of times fixed in various places in trunk so maybe wont be long to get the backport.
Keep it up guys!

So in plain English the problem is known and is being worked on? Just checking that I don't need to file a bug report now.

maybe we should recommend most of the theme designers to use a svgminifier you know like the one ariya hidayat made
It increased speed about 20%-30%. nmaybe that would also lead to better testing of a theme??
