automatic hide of system tray

i mean, when i click on the little arrow to expand the system tray i have to click it again to hide the hidden icons. It doesnt close automatically ?
kde 4.3.1

Maybe it should be an option to allow it to auto hide again. If you go to the trouble of hiding it then you'd expect it to hide itself again after a few seconds of being expanded - no? I always found it strange behaviour but then maybe I'm missing something or the developer's intention.
