Am trying to get the desktop widget (that comes when kubuntu is initially installed) on my plasma desktop. I had accidentally closed it. Can someone please help me how to get it back??

Probably a Folder View. Right click the desktop and unlock the widgets if they're locked, then right click again > Add Widgets and add a Folder View.
