Hello,
I was going to ask if there is currently any way of disabling this "feature" of a folders contents popping up when hovering the mouse over the entry? I use the desktop and thus the folderview extensively for my "current projects" and I cannot count the number of times this has forced me to wait or even click a dialog stating "A folder cannot be dropped into itself." Now this might be great for some people who use their desktop differently, but in my case it just gets really anoying every day I use it. Thanks. Timo PS: There is a feature vote on the KDE-Bugzilla. Please support. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=192821 |

No, it is not possible.
Man is the lowest-cost, 150-pound, nonlinear, all-purpose computer system which can be mass-produced by unskilled labor.

I believe a feature request has already been filed at bugs.kde.org requesting an option to disable this.

Yes, I did post a link for those who care to support this.
And @ man being a computer... what moron wrote that code? |

That committer of this feature would be Fredrik Höglund, committed in revision 947623 ( http://websvn.kde.org/?view=revision&revision=947623 ).

OH you got me wrong, I was talkin about the "man OS". The OS that requires me to get a coffee in the morning, to boot. Another one to start working and gets all those other Man OS instances to call me about their incompatibilities with those "computer" external devices.
I humbly respect the creative work of every single Developer and expect their KDE-commits being done with the best of intention. |

It's all good. I just hope for this to be implemented.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=192821 Votes are slowly getting in, hopefully this will not be lingering around forever. My last big gripe with the KDE-Desktop on everyday work. I'm reluctant to mess with the code myself as karmic is just about to be released and I'd hate to patch that every other day. On the other hand... *sigh* *edit* *sigh* indeed http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p= ... stcount=15 I ended up editing the sources, this is the guide to anyone who cares. (takes about 15 minutes including compile of kdebase on my system) |
