I am brand new to KDE 4.X,which I am using in Kubuntu. Can't say that I am in love with the menu system, but I guess one can get used to anything over time.
My main reason for writing is that I can't figure out how to change the wallpaper. From time to time I like to put one of the Grandkids up, or one of my flower collection, but can't find how to do it. Help would be appreciated. Thank you. |

Try right clicking on the desktop and selecting "Desktop Activity Settings". You should have a drop down to select your type of Wallpaper. The type you are likely looking for is "Image". Click the "Open" button, and use the file picker to find the image you wish to use.

I have a similar problem in the sense taht I know how to do the above but with 4.2 whenever I didnt like a wallpaper in the slideshow I would right click on the desktop and select "Desktop Activity Settings" and then click Apply until I found one in the slideshow I liked (making sure to get out of the screen by clicking cancel and not ok.)
Now in 4.3 the Apply button is greyed out and I can still click Ok but then I have to redo the whole process (as opposed to clicking Apply until you found the one you liked) each time, so if instead of going through a few pictures in seconds, now its stretched out. (Not sure if I should start a new topic but this was about changing the wallpapers manually so i figured it was close enough.) |

If you are using the slideshow mode, you might want to check out this widget: http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/Ne ... tent=94251
