is there any way to show Only the apps from my current desktop.
i have so many things going that it's too much to show them all. in 'too much' i mean it's overwellimg.
i want to see only what is on my current desktop in the taskbar, Please.

i know what is on what desktop, it's always been the same for me:
system (d1)
graphics (d2)
iNet (d3)
coding (d4)

thank you in advance,
LandisReed.

Right click on the taskbar/Task Manager Settings and check "Only show tabs from the current Desktop"

Thanks, but none of my three (3) installations of openSuSE 11.1 (all current updates via YaSt) with KDE 4.1.3 'release 4.10.4' have 'task manager'.
Right Click on Taskbar
context menu:
add widgets..
add panel
lock widgets
panel settings
remove this panel

That's it.

anything i'm missing?

You probably clicked on the panel, and not the task manager widget (the one showing your windows). If it's full, you can first click on the cashew (yellow icon in the panel when widgets are unlocked) and then right click.

I'm not sure this option is available on KDE 4.1.3.

THANK YOU!
i almost wrote back 'you're fncking crazzy'!
but....
after over a 100 'right clicks' on every pixel of that damn thing, i found the right spot.
don't know if the 'cashew' had anything to do with my success, but it was a click after that...
play around later.

Again, THANK YOU!

You have to right click an empty space on the task manager, or left click the cashew on the panel then right click any where on the task manager.

Well, it's pretty hard to click on it when you have some windows opened.
No problem!

When you are tight on space and don't like the cashew option, you can always use a different desktop.

You're welcome Landis. In KDE 4.3.x there's a small green arrow you can click on, but it's pretty hard to see and click. Hopefully it'll be better in 4.4.

Only left click is used here. See that green thing that appears in the top left corner of the clock?

OK,
all seems as i would like, but.....
I have kate open on my 4th desktop ('coding') and i leave it there as a 'scratch pad'..
The thing is no matter how many times i reboot (i was doing updates to SuSE), this is what i see.
after reboot, system restores my desktops with open apps. including kate on DT4.
but...
everytime, it is also on the application bar (taskbar) of desktop 1 ('system')? if i click on it, i go straight to desktop 4???

any ideas? it's almost a nice thing, because i use these two dt's together (most often)..

In the Task Manager configuration window, make sure "Only show tasks from current desktop" is ticked.

thank you, but i don't have a 'green thing' lol
i'm still on 4.1... for now, i need to get some work done and can't afford to mess up the upgrade.
