Hello,
I have successfully installed openSUSE 11.2/KDE4.3 on my desktop. I have set up the panel at the top and the taskbar at the bottom of the screen. Unfortunately the background of the panel and the taskbar are dark gray so the text and icons are not good readable and I also do't like the gray bars. I have tried to reconfigure the background of the bars but without success. I would like them to be the yellow green air theme, the same as in the below copied URL http://files.opensuse.org/opensuse/e...de-desktop.png Regards, Frans |

The link you have provided is broken. Since you are using openSUSE 11.2, It is simply needed to be using the openSUSE Oxygen Plasma theme, and possibly have compositing enabled.

Hello Administrator,
Thanks for the reply. It still did not work with oxygen and desktop effects enabled. It started to work after installation of the non-open source NVIDIA driver for my GeForce 8400GS NVIDIA videocard and logging out/in of KDE. Should I have logout also with the oxygen and desktop effects change? Thanks for the help. Regards, Frans |

You shouldn't need to logout after changing the Plasma Desktop theme or enabling Desktop Effects. If you used the Hot-Upgrade method to install 11.2, make sure that all packages are up to date from the OSS / Non-OSS / Updates repos that you have installed.
