Hello,
i'm just starting discovering Linux with Mandriva 2010. I just liked it! ;D
But today i have accidently delete the default panel and i can't rebuild it because the icons (plasma) was too big and i was unable to make some of them smaller. :((
Can you tell me how to "backup" the defaults panel please?

Thanks in advance!
:)

In Dolphin, make sure that you have set View to show hidden files. Then navigate to ~/.kde/share/config and find the files that begin with plasma. For each one, copy and paste - you will be given a chance to rename the paste, so just add '.sav' at the end of it. Now you have a fallback, no matter what mistakes you make.

Remember that in Linux almost everything is recoverable, so if, for instance, you find that you have lost some of the things from the panel you have probably just lost a widget, the taskbar, which you re-install from the Add Widgets dialogue.

Experiment and ask questions. We're always glad to help. It's a good idea, though, to ask one question at a time, with a clear subject. You can have as many threads going as you like. No-one will mind.
