I know i've done a Lot of **** here about 'little things', but it's the little things that make something useful and not a pain in the **** to use.

little things like right click>edit menu... genius.
'plasma' much easier to use.
'drag'n'drop' within one instance of konqueror.
loading konqueror as a file manager at launch instead of a browser, oh, by the way, in my launcher> applications> internet> I Don't have 'browsers', no FireFox or Konqueror. no folder named browsers... weird. The only firefox i have is in the 'quick launch' area and the only konqueror i have i put in the quick launch area as well. under file management i only have Dolphin... Why is that the 'default' manager? Dolphin SUCKS, in every way!
right click on folder tree in konqueror, nice.
statistics in the 'status bar' of konqueror.

'folder share' easier to get done.
it's faster and more stable, but.....
one ****. i can Not start openSuSE 11.2 with KDE 4.3 without using the option x11failsafe, it hangs halfway through loading, every time. i've removed every startup option but resume.. i've gone through the failsafe options and removed one at a time and it starts every time unless i take out failsafe. default start, starts only with the option x11failsafe.. don't know what that does, but nothing seems to be wrong. kde seems to work fine. highres and all.
back to the thank you's...
Speed, way up.
enough already, i don't want you to think i'm too nice.
there are still bugs galore, but enough is right i'll be nice for a while.
System tray is buggy, expand>colaps comes and goes.
Task Mang. will not hide while notification, process (ie, file copy) is in progress.
Can't add to system tray.
this is my problem, still don't understand 'plasma' enough.

this will do for now, i want to 'play'... it only took me 8 or 10 tries to install, because of the hang after installation (see above x11failsafe issue). twice i was able to boot to KDE after install, but within the first couple of minutes, lock and would not load after hard reboot.
system: dell something, 2.4 GHz, 1GB RAM, 64MB video, 160GB HDD, blah, blah..

oh, well, i still have another 'work station' or two to use until i figure out this x11 issue. (with your help, please.).
this is a brand new HDD, i've loaded with openSuSE 11.2 and KDE 4.3 using the NetInstall (tried the DVD iso, but with the x11 no boot issue, i thought i'd try the netinstall, same problem), so i can only assume i have all the latest files and according to YaST2, i Do have the latest and 'greatest'...

p.s., my brother-in-law was visiting this weekend and kept trying to get me to use Ubuntu (he works for Dell in TX and that's what they ship) or Gnome, but i stuck to my tried and true SuSE and KDE... Glad i did.

Everything is just,,,, Better!

one more little thing. upon clicking a 'desktop' icon in 'pager', the taskbar 'autohides' and i have to move my mouse away from the taskbar area and back to be able to select a running app or another desktop. this only happens if i've stayed and worked on a desktop for a long time. it's like the system has to retrieve data about a long forgotten desktop and looses track of what's going on, for just a second. No biggy right now.

default boot:
resume=/dev/disk/by-id/ata-WDC_WD1600AAJB-56WRA0_WD-WCAS27724145-part1 showopts
my options: vga=0x317 (i've added x11failsafe).
