I am wondering if there is any way I can change the default icon view of the folderview plasmoid to a list view. It allows configuration so that you can change the size of the icons from very small to quite big. However, they are always displayed in the icon view style in a grid. It would be very helpful for me if i could change this view to a list view with the full name of the file besides the file type icon.

I don't think Folderview offers a list view. You can however use Quick Access plasmoid and resize it accordingly to attain a customizable list view.
