Using BBC Weather it can't find any weather stations near me. It won't even find London! BBC Website has my town listed and it does have a weather station and also one at Gatwick airport approx one mile away.

Any ideas?

It appears broken currently at the moment, possibly due to changes by the BBC. I am in the process of contacting its developer. Do you use 4.3 or Trunk?

It's fixed. They did break searching. 4.4 has this fixed. Will backport to 4.3.x today.

Thanks,
Shawn.

Hi there. In a related note, I live in the States, and where I live the closest NOAA weather listing is 200+ miles away. If I search for my postal zip code, it says there are no matches. However, I can go straight to the NOAA's National Weather Service Website and enter my postal zip code straight into the page, which brings my local weather. In it's present state, it's of no use though I would love to use it.

One other thing that would be good to see would be a link from the plasmoid on the bottom that, by clicking, would launch the default browser to the weather service provider's web page and pre-populate the location field with the string from the plasmoid's settings.

On this system currently running KDE SC 4.3.2

It's under "add widgets" in the KDE Desktop and there are two versions: "LCD Weather Station" and "Weather Forecast". I think, though not 100% sure, they were available there by default.

Yeah it's there by default. What I need is the updated one.

Unfortunately, you will need to wait until either your distribution ships the fix, or the next release of KDE SC 4.3.

Hi,

I'm using 4.3.2 and it seems like I still have the same problem. I went to BBC weather page to make sure they were broadcasting a nearby city and they did but the weather plasmoid still can't find my town.

Unfortunately the BBC broke their API. It is fixed in KDE 4.4 at this time. I suggest you update to the latest KDE 4.3 release available, which may require using a PPA.
