Hello,
I recently bought a lenovo S10 netbook. I immediately installed kubuntu-netbook-preview on it. I liked it but, it felt very unfinished. so i decided to go living on the edge and install Kubuntu Lucid because they had more up to date packages. And indeed plasma-netbook works muchttp://www.google.be/search?client=o ... &oe=utf-8h better now. Unfortunatly there was a bug which made plasma-netbook crash at login. Instead of waiting for updates i decided to find a workaround. Result: many days of messing around i didn't find sh*t but the developpers fixed the bug and provided new packages. this would be great, if i did not broke my system. Because now plasma-netbook doesn't start at all, when i login! I think this is because i have not anymore a plasma-netbook.desktop file at some autostart folder. any help welcome. otherwise i will be reinstalling kubuntu totally thanks, |

I suggest creating a new user to see if it functions there.

creating a new user did not work. i also tried installing plasma-desktop and then i could select plasma-netbook or plasma-desktop in systemsettings, but this didn't work either.
i'm starting plasma-netbook manually after each login for now. i hope this will be fixed soon. |
