Hi, for some reason there is a different size of icons in panel in KDE 4.4 RC2 in comparisont to 4.3.x

You can see it in this screenshot:


The is KDE 4.3 on the left side and KDE 4.4 RC2 on the right side. You can see that Lancelot icon (the first one) is much smaller now (the Konqueror and Kontact icons and others are in quicklaunch where I can set the size). I have found out that when panel is resized the icon is also growing and when it reaches certain size it jumps back to the size shown in screenshot. It is easily reproducible with clean account and default horizontal panel and Kickoff menu - by resizing the panel you can see that application launcher icon is growing but suddenly it jumps back to smaller size.

Is it possible to change maximum size of icons? Is this a desired behaviour or should I fill a bug?

Does anyone have a reference for this?

I have a 30" monitor and because I've got the space I use a relatively large panel.

The default (only permissable?) icon size means the icons look ridiculous on my desktop.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to find much information as to why this was done, at least my searches of the Plasma mailing list archives turned up nothing.

The icon size limitation however is specified by global KDE icon size settings in System Settings however.
