Hi,
I have installed the widget "Notes/Desktop sticky notes". I am a big fan of backups and I wonder where I can find the file(s) which holds the notes I have written down on that nice little, yellow paper on my desktop. I have already looked around e.g. in ~/.kde/share/apps/plasma/plasmoids and some other locations. And unfortunately, the Notes plasmoid doesn't have a setting area, where you could define a save-to-folder. Thanks for all valuable comments. Cheers |

They are in ~/.kde/share/apps/knotes/notes.ics

Are you sure. This one relates to Kontact, which opens when I click on it (and does not show the content of my plasma-note-widget). Can it be the the Plasma-Widget uses a different file? |

Could be. I thought you meant knotes, which is run either inside kontact or stand-alone. I don't know anything about the plasma widget. Sorry.

I've just been told that the notes themselves are stored in plasma-desktop-appletsrc - which seems strange to me, but there you are!

Hi:
For anyone wondering where is that stored now:
they are saved as html files, with uuid as a name an no extension. The way I found it: 1. Create a new note on your plasma desktop 2. Write down a complex and unique phrase very hard to find anywhere else like:
3. grep the same expression recursively in your home dir:
On the result should appear the name of the file and the found string. Blessings, JJ |
