I could enable "search and launch containment" desktop activity after installing plasma-netbook. But I find it difficult to configure this desktop now. 'Right click' was not enabled by default, but I could manage it through configuration panel. But It's not giving much options to configure, is it designed that way? 'coz its meant for netbook users?
How to add new icons to desktop and to top section? |

Do you get the same experience with a new user? Did you previously use the Kubuntu Netbook Remix?

Nope, I haven't tried with a new user and this is the first time I'm using netbook remix. Additionally, I configured in my laptop, but I find no reason to refrain from using "search and launch containment" in a laptop.(Pls correct me if I'm wrong) But instead I feel its much easier/useful except with the issues mentioned above.

What is the setting in System Settings > Desktop > Workspace? Is it set to "Desktop" or "Netbook"?

Where did you find configuration of particular desktops? I also changed one of the desktops to "search and launch containment" and I'd like to change it back to normal desktop but like you said, right mouse click is disabled. |

Oh..it was Desktop. I changed the form factor to netbook. But anyway its not configurable enough, also crashed while switching the form factor. Rolling back.
@JackBauer- alternatively, you can use (Alt+d & Alt+s) shortcut to get settings back. |

The Search and Launch containment, at least when used by Plasma-Netbook, needs to have the Netbook form factor selected.

I too an unable to configure search and launch. It works ok except for the Contacts and Bookmarks links. I am guessing the Bookmarks link is setup to use the Konqueror bookmarks but I have no idea what the Contacts link uses, though it is not the Akonadi contacts. I would like to either reconfigure these links to use what I am using (Chromium and Akonadi) or delete them from the menu. How can I configure this? Dave
