Hi,

how can I remove a Plasmoid which is not visible (f.ex. needed when the Plasmoid is not compatible with new KDE-version or Plasma is failing after disconnecting a second screen) from within the Widget Browser? Before 4.4 it was possible to remove the Plasmoids from the same location where they were added.

For now I edited the rc-files, but that surely isn't the only way :-)

Thank you,
M

You can't remove them from the widget explorer because it cannot tell how many are running, and which is the one you want to remove. The old solution was, IIRC, mostly a hack and didn't always work.

Sound reasonable. Thanks for pointing that out. Makes sense.

But you don't know of any possibility to remove non-visible / out-of-screen plasmoids without editing the rc-files?

At the moment, I don't think it's possible. In last discussion about this that I followed, someone mentioned the System Activity dialog (Ctrl-Esc) as a better place to "kill" individual widgets (in a separate tab of something similar). Personally I think this sounds like a good solution and hope that we'll see it in 4.5.
