hello,

is there any known way to disable the automatic hiding of the symbols in the kde4-systemtray _completely_?

tried to google it for a while in german and english but didn't find anything helpful.

at the moment there seem to be some programs where the symbols hide automatically even when it is set that they should not hide ( here it is kgpg (2.2.2) and korganizer).

i remember that problem since i switched to kde4, but it just started to be more than annoying since i have to use kgpg very often at the moment, and having to klick every time on this little arrow starts to get on my nerves by now ;).

Qt: 4.5.3
KDE: 4.3.4 (KDE 4.3.4)

If the widgets are set to "Always Visible" and they are being hidden, that is a bug which should be filed at bugs.kde.org.

First, I would recommend updating to KDE 4.4.2 though.

thanks, but just to be sure, that means there is definitely no way to tell the applet in general that it shouldn't hide symbols at all?

yeah, upgrading to 4.4.* would be a nice idea, but i don't like to mix testing with unstable (here be dragons) and even if i would want to, they are not even in unstable at the moment.

The new upstream versions of these packages have been prepared by
their maintainers, but due to the complex situation in unstable
weren't uploaded yet. Nonetheless, they are planned to be included
in Squeeze.

anyone else using any version of kde and able to confirm this? could be helpful before i file a bug.

You need to disable hiding on an applet-by-applet basis.
