One-Key Shortcut for K-Menü

Mon Apr 12, 2010 9:31 pm
Hello!

I'm very happy with the way I can modify and setup KDEs plasma-desktop to fit my personal (windows-related :P) requests on a good workspace. But I think one thing is missing, or I simply don't know how to do it: When hitting the Windows(/Meta)-Key in Windows, the startmenu opens. Within KDE it seems to be impossible to configure a shortcut with only one key: Therefore it isn't possible to make K-Menu open through hitting "Meta". Am I missing any setting or, if not, is there a workaround or a trick to do it?

Thanks in advance,
Jonathan

Making the following command run on startup will allow you to bind the shortcut. Note that if you use any Windows + <Any Key> shortcuts they will be broken by this.

Code: Select all
xmodmap -e "keycode 115 = F13" &

KDE Sysadmin
