Keyboard Navigation

Mon Apr 19, 2010 5:08 pm
Hi,
I was testing out the plasma-netbook interface and I think it is great :D

After a while I thought it would also work as a great interface for my HTPC.
I have a small Ubuntu installation with a few Apps (XBMC,Boxee, Opera) and a few games.

I currently have a customized script to launch Xorg+Nautilus+openbox+lirc+irxevent on startup.
This way I am able to browse the apps and files with a Remote Control. Basically I am just sending keyboard keys (cursors keys,Return, backspace) to Nautilus trough irxevent.

My problem is that plasma-netbook can't be controlled with a keyboard :(
I can't use the cursors keys to navigate trough the Icons, Tab doesn't work, etc...

Is there anyway to solve this issue?

Thanks in advance ;)

Which version of KDE are you using? Using Trunk or 4.4.2 is strongly recommended. If you can still reproduce it after upgrading to either of them, please file a bug at bugs.kde.org.

Hi, thanks.
I was working with 4.3.2 from Ubuntu repositories.
I am trying the same thing with 4.4.2 on openSUSE and it seems to work properly.

I'll try to upgrade the ubuntu version and report any problems.

Thanks again ;-)
