There's one thing I don't grasp: How to set up different activities on different desktops? Yes, I can manage with System Settings->Desktop->Multiple Desktops. But then, three out of four desktops are empty.
I don't want that! I have already created my own standard desktop with my wallpaper, my widgets, and stuff. When I zoom out, I can see this, one, activity. What I want, is to have this one activity on all desktops, and then, and only then, modify this 'template' activity; per desktop each and individually. So far, I only manage to zoom it in on one of the desktops, and the others will be (default and) empty. Whereas I want my 'template' on all desktops and *then* modify all desktops individually. Thanks, Uwe |

So what you want is to be able to clone an activity (and put it on the other desktops)? This functionality isn't yet available (though if you are ambitious enough, you can edit the plasma config files to do the copying/editing, in which case the files are at ~/.kde/share/config/plasma*. Make sure that plasma isn't running if you do edit them, e.g. don't edit them while logged into KDE)

Thanks, airdrik, for the answer.
I was just thinking I was too dumb to get it. Because it is sooo obvious, isn't it?: Having a single activity -> activating different activities -> having your single activity on all desktops (activities), and off you go. Not? Thanks again, Uwe |

In 4.5, you will be able to choose 'clone this activity' when creating a new one.
