icons gone after a hard reboot

Mon Jun 14, 2010 2:46 pm
Today something weird happened: I started up my copmuter, logged into KDE, started chromium browser and suddenly everything froze. I couldn't switch VT or kill X server, but alt+printscreen+b worked. After rebooting most icons in kicker launcher(?) menu were missing. Now it looks like this: http://img409.imageshack.us/img409/7078 ... hw2673.jpg
Icons on the desktop and everywhere else are all right.

What could have happened? How can I get them back?

Thanks in advance.

It appears that your icon cache has been corrupted. This could also mean that other caches have been corrupted. Please remove /var/tmp/kdecache-$USER/ outside KDE.
