add application to hover

Thu Jun 17, 2010 7:10 am
Hi people,
I am very new to the latest KDE - and rather flabbergasted, since I installed it by Fedora F13 arriving from F8... such a change, wow!

Among the wonderful new features I really like the folder view, with its successive opening of folders by mouse-hover.
I noticed that with the mouse on an image, a preview is displayed.
Yet this not happen with other filetypes, even rather simple ones as .txt, .pdf etc.
There is some way to add previewers to it?

thanks for your help

Right click an empty space in the folder view -> Folder View settings -> Display -> "More Previews Options", enable the ones you want.

well, not exactly - I tried just now.
I added to start HTM files and text files, but hovering on e.g. a text file, I just see appear a window with :

file name
plain text document
file size

without a preview

for the record, I have 4.4.3 (KDE 4.4.3) under Fedora F13

Ah, I see what you mean. I don't know how to make txt files have previews in tool tips like images, if possible at all...
