I upgraded from FC12 to FC13 using yum a week or so ago and since then, KDE crashes when I connect a second monitor to my notebook. The setup works fine if I log into Gnome.

KDE worked beautifully on FC12 with the second monitor installed and I would like to get this setup working again.

Any ideas will be appreciated.

If you disable Desktop Effects does it crash? Also, how does it crash? Does Plasma crash or does it crash completely out to the login screen?

Following a crash, please copy the content of ~/.xsession-errors out using a virtual terminal, the pastebin it and post a link here. This should not occur.

Also, try disabling Desktop Effects in System Settings before logging out to connect the second monitor. KWin is started very early in the startup procedure and when combined with the second monitor could be triggering a bug in the graphics driver.
