I have been stumped by this issue for some time, both with KDE 4.4.X and now with KDE 4.5 RC1. What is the preferred way to create a new activity in plasma netbook interface?
On my desktop system, this is straightforward. Click cashew on upper right. Zoom out. Create activity. In SC 4.5, this is even easier ... you can create an activity from the cashew menu directly. On my plasma netbook interface (Kubuntu 10.4), I have one activity that is set up with "search and launch" containment. Click on the cashew on the bottom left, and there is no option for zooming out or creating a new activity. If one is using a "folder view" containment in plasma netbook, same thing. Click on the "activity manager" widget in the panel, and there (amazingly) seems to be no way to add or delete an activity. I have hunted with google for several weeks, but no luck. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. |

Hey,
The work around I have found (KDE 4.6 Kubuntu 10.10) is to change one activity to Newspaper. You can do this by right clicking the desktop. Once it is in Newspaper open your 'cashew ' tab then select 'add new page'. Now go to new page and right click to set activity type of choice. Note this response is to a user who wants to run Netbook mode only. J |
