No devices detected

Sun Jul 11, 2010 3:10 pm
After upgrading from Kde 4.3 to 4.4, removable device detection won't work anymore.
Until I was using kde 4.3 everything was ok, but after the upgrade to the newer version, "device notifier" doesn't show any device.
lshal and solid-hardware show correctly informations about the hardware installed.
Device Notifier also show no device if, in the settings, I choose to display all devices.
Making a tail of .xsession-errors while plugging a usb device I obtain
Code: Select all
kded(10909)/kdecore (KConfigSkeleton) KCoreConfigSkeleton::writeConfig:
QObject::connect: Cannot connect (null)::ejectPressed(QString) to SolidAutoEject::onEjectPressed(QString)
kded(10909)/kdecore (KConfigSkeleton) KCoreConfigSkeleton::writeConfig:
QObject::connect: Cannot connect (null)::ejectPressed(QString) to SolidAutoEject::onEjectPressed(QString)
kded(10909)/kdecore (KConfigSkeleton) KCoreConfigSkeleton::writeConfig:
QObject::connect: Cannot connect (null)::ejectPressed(QString) to SolidAutoEject::onEjectPressed(QString)
kded(10909)/kdecore (KConfigSkeleton) KCoreConfigSkeleton::writeConfig:
QObject::connect: Cannot connect (null)::ejectPressed(QString) to SolidAutoEject::onEjectPressed(QString)
kded(10909)/kdecore (KConfigSkeleton) KCoreConfigSkeleton::writeConfig:

Any idea on what can be wrong?

Can you please ensure that all packages are up to date? In particular, ensure that the Solid HAL backend has been built?

All the system is up to dated to the latest release available.
Solid HAL backend is present. In fact I can find it in the hardware setting, under Power Management Backend

Re: No devices detected  Topic is solved

Solved! It was just a problem with an update of some libraries from which depend hal. Recompiling hal solve my problem.
Thank you
