I've been having a hard time controlling where the icons go on the task bar. I had to delete one icon and then everything else moved to the left so when I open a program I don't have any button to show that it's open. Also I tried to add the digital clock back and every time it makes all the icons move to the left again. Very frustrating!
How do you control where the icons go? How do I get the minimize buttons to appear again once a program is open? I'm running Fedora 14 KDE 4.5.2 64bit |

I think you need to use the cashew to be able to change the location of the taskbar buttons. If you can't see this cashew in the right corner of your taskbar, right click the taskbar and choose unlock widgets.
After clicking on the cashew, another panel will open with some options related to widget management. When this panel is opened, you should be able to move around the taskbar icons/panels to where you want to place them (just move your mouse pointer over them and drag them around). |

That sounds like you accidentally removed the task manager widget. If, when the widgets are unlocked, you right click on the panel and choose panel options->Add widget you will get a window with all available widgets. Find the task manager and double click on it. After that, follow the instructions by vesrin to move stuff around.

Thank you, I added the task manager back and was able to get the task bar to work as before.
