How do I put my own icon on a shelf, so that the shelf with all my geology stuff in it has a pickaxe, but my shelf with my chess games in it has a knight on it?

Right Click on Shelf > Shelf Settings > Advanced > Applet Icon. Click the Icon to display a dialog to choose the icon desired.

I can find no "Applet Icon" on that menu. But now that I look at it, it fades out sort of unnaturally just after the "extender position" left right Icons. May be that option is on the part of the menu that is hidden but is not supposed to be?


I wish this forum software would allow me to attach a screenshot I would include a picture.

I have complained on how the menu fades out. I do not know if the "Applet Icon" is on the hidden part of the menu.

It has probably been added in KDE 4.6 in this case, assuming you use KDE 4.5.
