Also the icons on konsole on the tabs are in the same mess. I had the same issue with Lucerne previously. Tried clearing the cache again with no luck.

Is this reproducible under a new user? Do you have Desktop Effects enabled?

I've seen this while using nouveau. Since it's by no means in a finished state, it's a strong function of which graphics card you're using. I see no corruption on a 6800 card, while I've seen minor corruption (one or two icons temporarily get messed up) on 9500GT and heavy corruption (amarok's album art and stars + icons in systray all get messed up frequently and stay messed up) on 9800GT.

This does not happen with nvidia's binary drivers, so I doubt the problem is in KDE itself. When nouveau becomes more stable, these bugs should disappear.
