is there a way to change the icon a plasmoid uses? reason being as I am now using pastebin and paste it's a bit confusing as they both use the same clipboard icon or do I need to do a wishlist/brainstorm?

You could manually edit the

/usr/share/kde4/services/plasma-applet-pastebin.desktop file, and change the Icon= line.

Doesn't that only change the icon in the Widget Explorer etc.? I would guess that you'll have to edit the source to change the icon, although I haven't tried either methods myself.

A wishlist/Brainstorm idea would be good. Personally I think that the Paste widget is the one that should change icon and name though.

I changed the icon= as suggested but did not see a change when I re-added the plasmoid

will do 2 things:
1) request icon change in bugzilla for pastebin because it should be show a connection to the web (perhaps add a globe in one corner of the clibboard)
2) add brainstorm to add ability to change icon used by plasmoid in the plasmoid settings
- brainstorm.php#idea92093_page1

Note that you likely need to run "kbuildsycoca4" followed by a restart of Plasma for changes to that file to come into effect... I do think it may be hardcoded into the plugin's code itself though. The Icon= line is definitely used for the widget browser though.

no affect, appears to be hardcoded into the plugin's code
